Introduction

The human-machine interface systems contain both hardware and software, which are necessarily recognized as computerized devices. Still, these systems control the functionality and perceived quality of the service. Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) have been used in hardware-centric models to increase processing efficiencies a few years back. With technological advancements in electronics, wireless communication, Image and video data transmission, cognitive computing and robotics, it will not be long until the object size scales down to small processors and small Distributed with itself. Increasing the system performance with the existing computing technologies is not sufficient. The advancements are rising demand for the latest technologies like soft computing, Grid/Fog Computing, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Cutting-edge technologies are moving towards software-driven industrial systems. Advancements are leading the Human Machine interface software and hardware industry to develop more and more. This demand also corresponds to the advent of advanced human-machine interfaces, intelligent sensors, real-time data acquisition, IoT and cloud computing.

These soft & AI computing-based software systems are replacements for low computational systems. This soft computing is used to interconnect and communicate the devices integrated into our daily lives. These needs are increased parallelly the problems raised in the user-centric and industry-centric. These problems are prone to invent new technologies in this domain and find solutions for industry 4.0 needs. New technologies like soft computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Neural networks are applied to uncertainty in Human-Machine interface systems to solve unsolved problems. A new category of computing architectures called neuromorphic processors or brain-inspired computing will become mainstream for Human Machine Interface system applications.
