A Commitment to Research Integrity and the Restructuring of SCPE
Dear Readers, Authors, and the Scientific Community,
Recently, the editorial board of Scalable Computing: Practice and Experience (SCPE) underwent a significant leadership transition. Upon taking over, we initiated a comprehensive, retrospective audit of the journal's archives, specifically focusing on Special Issues published in recent years.
Our rigorous investigation, aided by advanced metadata analysis and anomaly detection systems, revealed evidence of systematic manipulation of the publication and peer review process in certain historical submissions. This includes compromised reviewer identities, severe conflicts of interest, and breaches of our editorial policies.
In strict adherence to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), we are taking decisive action. A series of retractions will be issued for articles where the integrity of the peer review process could not be verified. We deeply regret that our previous editorial oversight mechanisms failed to prevent this.
Moving forward, SCPE has completely overhauled its editorial workflow. We have implemented a zero-tolerance policy for non-institutional emails, enforced strict verification of reviewer affiliations, and deployed multi-layered AI-assisted screening protocols.
We are committed to rebuilding trust and ensuring that SCPE remains a robust, reliable platform for the computer science community.
