Article Processing Charge

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Scalable Computing: Practice and Experience (SCPE) is a fully Open Access journal. This page outlines our publication fees, payment security protocols, and author services.

1. Open Access Publication Fee

All articles published in SCPE are published in full Open Access under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license. This guarantees that your research is freely available globally immediately upon publication.

An Article Processing Charge (APC) of [1200 USD] (US Dollars) applies to papers accepted after rigorous peer review.

This transparent charge covers the comprehensive costs associated with:

  • Journal management and editorial workflow operations.
  • Rigorous double-blind peer review administration.
  • Professional copyediting, XML generation, and high-quality PDF typesetting.
  • Long-term digital archiving and Crossmark integration.

* In addition to US Dollars (USD), we also accept payments in Euros (EUR) and British Pound Sterling (GBP). Local VAT or Sales Tax will be added if applicable.

2. Invoicing & Payment Security

Invoices are emailed shortly after an official acceptance notification to the payment contact provided by the authors during submission.

⚠️ Fraud Alert: Official Invoices Only

Only official invoices issued directly by the SCPE Editorial Office (via official @scpe.org email addresses or through the OJS system) are valid.

  • We do not authorize any third party or agency to collect APCs on our behalf.
  • SCPE is the sole service provider and cannot be held liable for any fraudulent actions by third parties.
  • If you receive a suspicious payment request, please verify it immediately by contacting the Editor-in-Chief.

3. Research Funding & Institutional Support

Before requesting a waiver from the journal, authors are highly encouraged to check with their institutions.

Note to Authors: Many national and private research funding organizations, as well as universities, explicitly cover Open Access APCs for articles resulting from funded research projects. We can provide any necessary documentation or official letters required by your funding agency to process the payment.

4. Waivers and Discounts

SCPE is dedicated to fostering global scientific exchange. We offer selective APC discounts and waivers based on the following criteria:

  • Reviewer Vouchers: Reviewers who have provided timely and substantial peer-review reports for SCPE are granted discount vouchers.
  • Editorial Board Privileges: Active Editorial Board Members (EBMs) and Guest Editors are eligible for substantial discounts or full waivers, subject to annual quotas.
  • Low-Income Economies: Authors affiliated with institutions in Low-Income Countries (as classified by the World Bank) may apply for waivers. Applications must be submitted prior to initial manuscript submission.

* Please note that granting a waiver or discount is at the sole discretion of the Publisher. The editorial decision-making process is completely blinded to the APC payment status to ensure strict academic independence.

5. Manuscript Quality & English Editing Services

Submitted papers must be well-prepared, featuring clear figures and high-quality academic English. If the English language quality does not meet our basic reading standards, it may lead to severe delays in processing or immediate rejection.

SCPE Author Services: English Language Editing

To assist authors in polishing their manuscripts, we offer professional SCPE English Editing Services. Our network of native English speakers and subject-area experts will refine your grammar, spelling, phrasing, and academic tone to ensure your work meets international publication standards.

Important Note on Independence: Utilizing the SCPE English Editing Service is entirely optional. Authors are completely free to use any third-party professional editing service or to consult with a native English-speaking colleague. Furthermore, utilizing any editing service does not influence the peer-review process or guarantee the acceptance of your manuscript.
